Baruch Nachshon b. 1939 Israeli painter
Baruch Nachshon was born in Haifa, Israel in 1939. He
studied with Solomon Neroni, who was Paul Cezanne’s only student and
learned how to express his religious beliefs through his art. Inspired by
Biblical and Kabbalistic themes, his work is expressive and visionary,
influenced by Oriental and Western art. Nachshon lives in a Jewish
settlement called Kiryat Arba, which is near the city of Hebron in Israel.

David Dalhoff Neal 1838-1915 American painter and engraver
David Dalhoff Neal was born in Lowell, MA on October 20, 1838. After his
education at the Andover Academy, Neal arrived in San Francisco in
1857 via New Orleans and the Isthmus of Panama. Without the benefit
of art training, he quickly established himself as one of the city’s most
sought after portraitists. A wealthy patron financed a trip to Munich in 1861 for formal art training. Entering the Royal Academy, he wed the daughter of one of
his teachers and made Munich his home for the rest of his life. During
1869-76 he worked in the atelier of Karl von Piloty.

John Neale - 20th Century British landscape artist
John Neale is a British artist greatly influenced by the French Impressionists. He enjoys painting en plein air and, particularly, capturing the effects of sunlight and shadow. Neale is represented by galleries in England, the United States and New Zealand.

Alexandra Nechita b. 1985 Romanian-born American Cubist and Expressionist painter and printmaker
Alexandra Nechita was born in Romania in 1985. She first started drawing with pen and ink at the age of two, and by age five had graduated to watercolors, expanding even further into oils and acrylics at the age of seven. Her works were first exhibited in a solo show at the Los Angeles public library when she was just eight years old. Nechita graduated from UCLA in 2008 with a degree in Fine Arts and currently lives in Los Angeles. Alexandra’s lithographs are hand pulled collaborative prints created at Mourlot Press in Paris, France.

LeRoy Neiman 1921-2012 American athletic genre painter and illustrator
LeRoy Neiman’s, vibrant energetic style set him apart from other artists. His works encompass sports, entertainment, travel, and adventure. Leroy Neiman was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, De Paul University, and the University of Illinois. Neiman taught at the Art Institute of Chicago's school for ten years and then moved to New York City in 1963 when he had his first one-man show at the Hammer Gallery. Neiman’s best-known works are sports scenes, and as the official artist for ABC-TV, Neiman painted athletes at the Olympic Games in 1972 and 1976, and at the Winter Olympics of 1980. Neiman's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the world, including the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and the Hermitage in Leningrad. Before his recent passing he endowed Columbia University with a school for fine art printmaking.

Laszlo Neogrady 1896-1962 Hungarian landscape painter
Laszlo Neogrady was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1896. He was the son of the artist Anatal Neogrady, and he studied painting at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. He became an art teacher, specializing in watercolor techniques. Beginning in 1922, Neogrady exhibited his work at the Hungarian Art Gallery. He specialized in painting naturalistic landscapes, many of which depicted forest scenes in the snow. Laszlo typically creates dramatic lighting in order to make his landscapes atmospheric. He died in August of 1962.

Ben Nicholson 1894-1982 British abstract painter, landscape and still-life
Ben Nicholson was born on April 10, 1894 in Denham, Buckinghamshire, England. He came from a family filled with artists and architects. He trained as an artist in London at the Slade School of Fine Art from 1910-1914. Nicholson’s first exhibition of figurative works was in London in 1922. Following that show, his work began to be influenced by synthetic cubism, and later by the primitive style of Rousseau. On several visits to Paris, he met Mondrian, whose work in the neoplastic style was to influence him towards abstraction. Nicholson’s personal style is a combination of his abstract influence of Mondrian and of his cubist influence of Picasso. In 1933 he made his first wood relief, which contained only right angles and circles. He died in February of 1982.

Frances Roberts Nugent 1901-1963 American landscape artist
Frances Nugent was born in New York City and studied at the Pratt Institute in New York. By the 1920’s she had moved to Hollywood, CA and was a graduate of UCLA and USC. For forty years, she taught at San Fernando State College and was a popular lecturer. Frances Nugent is a listed artist in Davenports Art Reference Guide as well as in major art and auction databases. However, because there is no current gallery representation for this artist the stated value is based on extrapolation from past auction sales.
